Deadline for the submission of annual reports

For the reporting period of April 2023 to March 2024, all projects that have received contingents via the HLRS Steering Committee to use the high-performance computers operated by hww GmbH are required to submit a results report in English with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 pages for review.

The deadline for this is June 10, 2024.

If the submission deadline is not met, in the worst case, computer access for all users of the project will be blocked at short notice until an informal application for reactivation is submitted, including a justification for the overrun and the missing annual report. In such cases, the steering committee reserves the right to cancel part or all of the unused computing time quota, with the consequence that a follow-up application with a regular review procedure may have to be submitted prematurely. If the assessment reveals that the annual report does not meet the quality requirements, you will be asked to rectify the situation within a period of 4 weeks.

If you only started your project at the beginning of 2024, we request a short status report of one to two pages.

These measures are intended to help the operators of the computers to adapt the usage models as well as possible to the needs of the users and to make decisions on further expansion. From the reports submitted, the reviewers will select those with outstanding results for publication. The publication will be published by Springer Verlag under the title "High Performance Computing in Science and Engineering '24".

To present the selected reports (talks and posters), a workshop will be held this year at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in cooperation with the Scientific Computing Center (SCC) on October 10 and 11, 2024 in Karlsruhe, to which we cordially invite representatives of all projects. This workshop is also intended to facilitate the exchange of experience between the projects and between project staff and the members of the steering committee. At the end of the workshop, the members of the steering committee will select the three best projects for the "Golden Spike" award and present it to the winners on site.

We look forward to welcoming you to KIT in October!
